Making Connections

Your LaGuardia professors and advisors want to help you develop the 2Pt century learning skills you need to be successful in education and career.  Future success will require the ability to connect learning -- across courses, over time, and between campus and community  life (including work, family and social settings).  When you make connections, you multiply the impact of each learning experience.  And you build your ability to transfer skills and knowledge from one experience to another- a key skill valued by employers

Over time, maintaining your ePortfolio  can help you reflect, pull together  your experiences in and outside of the classroom, and build your ability to make connections.  This process is called "integrative learning."

This section of your ePortfolio  asks you to connect your learning in different  courses, assignments and co-curricular  experiences.  Starting with the questions below and continuing as you progress toward graduation, you will use this part of your ePortfolio  to build on and integrate different learning experiences.
