Educational Settings

      I am currently doing my 60 hour internship at P.S. 51 in Queens, New York. The school includes grades Pre-K through first grade. I got the opportunity to work with the first grade class and my internship teacher's name is Mrs.G. I am usually there on Monday, Wednesday or Friday for the whole day, which helps me to see how she manages her classroom and for an entire day of lessons.

    The classroom I am in consists of about twenty four students, there are more boys than girls.  The class is filled with different cultures and religions. Most of the students are Hispanics. There are also student from India, Pakistan and Guyanese. The class is well behaved with few students who need extra care. In the classroom I worked in, the chairs and tables were well set up in the groups of four or six. By this set up, students can interact with each other. P.S. 51 is helping me realize why I really want to be an elementary teacher. Teachers and students have really faith in me for becoming a good teacher one day.
