❖   Read the following short articles: “4 Elements to Writing a Great Blog Post” (193-196), “9 Tips on Writing a Blog Post People Will Actually Read” (197-199)

❖   In addition, read these sample student personal essays: 327-330 and 341-344

❖   If you have not yet completed your essay first draft, don’t worry about it – I will set aside enough time tomorrow for you to finish. You do not have to work on it outside of class.

 

Homework for 8/13:

1. Read the following personal essays: “I Didn’t Love My Wife When We Got Married” (65-70), “Stop Crowdsourcing Your Happiness” (125-126), “This Is Quite Gay” (152-155), “Why Do We All Have to be Beautiful? (168-170).

2. Choose your Essay #1 topic.

 

Homework for 8/12: 

1) Read: “Your Emotions Don’t Care About You” (182-184) and “We Procrastinate Because of Bad Moods?” (284-288). Be prepared to discuss and write about these articles in class.

2) Return to 750.com and complete least one more round of writing before next class. Make sure to reach the target word count.

 

Homework for 8/8: Read “Fixed vs. Growth” (39-50), “Why Trying to be Perfect Won’t Help You Achieve Your Goals” (174-177), and “How Beliefs Can Sabotage Your Behavior” (61-64). Be prepared to discuss and write about these articles in class.
