1) How did you feel about writing down your total spend for the month?  What did it leave you thinking about?  Were you surprised by the total?

I think it's a really good thing to track your expenses. I usually do this on a regular basis, but I've been fallen behind lately. I wasn't surpised by the totals because I try to closely monitor my spending.

2) What did you learn in the presentation "20 Years to Financial Freedom?"  Do you think about 20 years into the future?

The power of compound interest never ceases to amaze me. I think it's helped me to think about the long term and set realistic long term financial goals for myself. I often set ridiculous goals that are nothing more than financial fantasies. Like I'll be making 100K a year in a few years and be a millionaire by the time I'm 40. Unfortunately for me, making and saving money takes a lot of work and builds slowly over time. But giving myself 20 years, keeps me focused on that slow day in and day out process.

3) What did you learn from the Ann Diamond Video?

I really liked her idea of living the life you were meant to live. And that is what I'm trying to achieve. That I deserve to have a better material existence and will be able to earn it if I work towards it and am financially prudent. Is it so much to ask for to own my own home and be able to afford regular medical and dental treatment? I don't think so. I also have more grandiose dreams of wealth, but that's more the life I wish I could live. I believe my present situation, though I'm grateful for what I do have, could be improved and that I am not presently living the life I was meant to live.
