If I look back about five years ago, I would never see myself where I am now. 5 years ago I wanted to be a paramedic. Thought I could be able to handle the pressure of having someone’s life in my hands. When reality stepped in, I decided to change my major into Travel and Tourism Hospitality Management. I really had to put together what I was good at in order to decide what path I should take, which is Giving an opportunity to good service and being able to make the best out of a bad situation . I love seeing my hard work being paid off by a smile or changing a person’s mood. Hospitality really interested me by the job I am currently in. I am a manager of Rite Aid Pharmacy. This job brought out my strengths in service and my patience.

My hobbies on the other hand are playing sports. I have been playing volleyball since the 6th grade. I have been on many teams and have won many awards. In my freshman year of high school, we were the division champs. I love the sport because it is about team work and communication. You can’t have just one on a team; you must have both in order to get far.  There is No "I" in Team!

Most of my family isn’t really into the things I like. My family consists of service men and doctors.I am Hispanic, born and am raised in Brooklyn, New York. I love Brooklyn, and am currently living in Williamsburg. If you know Brooklyn you would not even recognize it now. It has changed so much from being such a bad area, to being one of the best areas to socialize.

As a woman, I am proud of where I stand. I am very independent and support women being leaders in this  time. Women have come so far from where we were. I want to influence women by my career path, show them that all you need is to believe in yourself and you will get there. One career that seems interesting that I would like to get into would be, a women advocate. We do need more women advocates in this society, we must bring  women support in order to see more women leaders.

One career issue that I am facing or worried about now, is the way people look at a woman leader. Most men do not like women being leaders. They believe we will let our emotions take over and will not get the work done. I hope for in the future that minds will change and we all can think the same.
