My Educational & Career Goals
Educational Background
Previously I have achieved a B.A. in Communication and Corporate Relations which allowed me to gain experience in the communication and marketing field for five year in Colombia. I came to The United States to study English as a second language in order to be more competitive in the communication field.
Career Goals
After one year of living in The United States, I realized that learning a new language doesn’t happen over night. For that reason, I studied really hard for six years to become fluent in English. I believe that having excellent interpersonal along with written and oral skills in both Spanish and English will be an advantage to succeed in the translation field. At some point, I found that Spanish-English Translation is being in high demand in this country since not everybody, and especially Hispanic phone communities, don’t speak English.
Transfer and Advanced Education
Currently I am concluding my third academic year at LaGuardia Community College in Spanish-English Translation. After finishing my Associate Degree, I am planning to transfer Hunter College to obtain a Bachelor Degree in the interpretation field. At the same time, I want to work for in a governmental organization as The Family Court where I can maximize my skills in translation.
