Hello and welcome to my e-Portfolio! My name is Luciana Neves and I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant student about to graduate. Occupational Therapy has made an impression on my life. I chose this career after my son needed services from Early Intervention and I had the chance to meet extraordinary professionals who were extremely helpful to my family. This type of experience is not something unusual amongst the many that have decided for this career. I have known many students and professionals who chose this profession after they experienced some kind of trauma, disability, or dysfunction themselves or in someone they love. My own experience gave me an insight into this wonderful profession that simply said, brings life in the form of hope to many. I have many plans for my future as an OTA and would like to continue my studies. However presently, my goal is to finish college, get my NBCOT certification, become a COTA and start working.
