Paulo Mangila

Hello there, I am Paulo. I am a Practical Nursing major here in LaGuardia CC and a philosopher at heart. I have  always been concerned with the human condition. I find nursing and philosophy to be a very good match in seeking an understanding to this.

"Life is a terminal disease. There is no cure for it but we can sure treat it effectively."

This is a personal quote that guides me in understanding what life is. As you may have observed, it has both philosophical and nursing connotations. Nursing mostly concerns itself with the physical and follows a hierarchy of needs. Philosophy deals with the metaphysical and the transcendant. With both, I am better able to see and interact with the human condition. These two disciplines allow me to meet people at their worst and their best. I believe by understanding others I could better understand myself.

I would like to invite you and browse some of the insights, experiences and goals I have accumulated so far in this journey we call life. Feel free to read and give comments on the papers posted in my "extracurricular".

Oh and by the way...

It's great to be a male nurse!
